In a world dominated by fast fashion, where trends change in the blink of an eye and clothing is often treated as disposable, sustainability has become a necessity. Our commitment to sustainability isn't just about being eco-friendly; it's about challenging the throwaway culture that surrounds us. We take time to create and design high quality pieces that are meant to last. With IVY, you are investing in a wardrobe staple that will accompany you on many adventures to come.
As conscious consumers, we all want to make responsible choices that benefit both the planet and future generations. We are committed to embodying these values in our business, and today, we're diving into our sustainable manufacturing practices.
One of the most significant steps we've taken to reduce our environmental impact is our partnership with a small manufacturing company to hand make our swimwear. This collaboration isn't just about producing quality swimwear; it's about doing so in a way that minimizes waste and embraces eco-friendly practices.
Our manufacturing partner believes in the concept of low waste. This means that every material used in the production process is utilized to its fullest extent, leaving virtually no waste behind.
They start with creating efficient patterns. This is a crucial aspect of reducing waste in the textile industry. Our manufacturing partner employs skilled pattern makers who meticulously design patterns to maximize fabric utilization. This ensures that we cut down on excess fabric waste.
Textile production often results in an abundance of leftover scraps that are traditionally discarded. However, our partner takes a different approach. They collect these textile remnants and recycle them, transforming them into new products.
We source sustainable materials for our swimwear, and our manufacturing partner plays a vital role in ensuring these materials are used efficiently. They carefully hand cut and sew each piece to minimize material wastage, making every meter of fabric count.
At IVY Swimwear, we believe that sustainability is an ongoing journey. We're always looking for ways to improve our manufacturing processes, reduce waste further, and innovate with sustainable materials.
We're not just in the business of swimwear; we're in the business of making a positive impact on the environment. There are many ways you, the customer can help us be a more sustainable company as well. We ask you to recycle and reuse whatever packaging you can when you receive our product. We also ask you to take care of your swimwear, to increase its longevity. To wash: hand wash in cold water. Do not bleach, tumble dry, or dry clean. Lay the bikini flat to dry or hang to dry. Avoid contact with rough surfaces or fabric pulls can occur.
Thank you for being a part of our journey towards a more sustainable future. Stay tuned for more updates on our sustainability initiatives!Written by: Alison Donovan
